Awaiting Spring - 等待春天的到來
March 2024
February has been a busy month with all the Lunar New Year celebrations.
We played for a full house at both Hopkins School and the Wethersfield Lunarfest. The audience loved us! More pictures and videos are becoming available every few days, so keep checking our Facebook page. Follow us on our social media if you haven’t done so already. To help us bring our music to even more places around Connecticut, please support us by donating here.
Some more exciting news from February:
NHCCC was featured on the Daily Nutmeg in an awesome article written by Patricia Grandjean.
On the morning of Yale-China’s Lunarfest, Joy, Margaret, David, and Lely represented NHCCC to walk in the parade with their instruments. We are hoping to get a banner made for the same occasion next year. Let us know if you want to walk with us next year! Pictured here.
Joy played the erhu in several family concerts with members from New Haven Symphony. A number of our members also performed at various Lunar New Year events all around Connecticut. See Joy’s “Racing Horse” here.
Looking ahead, we are preparing a new Spring program that includes many songs about flowers (Jasmine flowers, Roses, Peach Blossoms, Orchid, flowers in the night…). Tune in next month to read about our Spring program.
